Each piece is handcrafted in Hawaii by island jewelry designer, Darlene Ide. Her one of a kind creations, ideal gifts for birthdays, holidays, and weddings, are sure to be enjoyed!
Many different types of high quality gemstones are used for these unique creations. Turquoise, aquamarine, black onyx, lapis and tigereye, along with marcasite , add to just a few of my exquisite pieces.
Glass beads and pendants are popular components used by artists today. Most all glass types are handmade. A favorite is dichroic, which literally means “two-colored”. Metal oxides are intensely heated to create a material of amazing brilliance, and each is truly unique.
Lampwork beads are made using a rod or mandrel, sticks of glass, and a torch. The glass is melted and swirled onto the mandrel, using one or many layers to get all sorts of effects, such as flowers dots, and ribbons. The results are beautiful pieces that are individual works of art.
